Dash camera accessories in Qatar: the cameras that complete a system

A recorder covers the road. The disputes that cost fleets money are often about the cabin, the rear or the cargo. Jimi IoT’s peripheral cameras add those views to an existing JC series recorder without a second system, second subscription or second screen.

Which camera for which job

  • CI01: 720P infrared camera for the cabin or trailer cargo, full colour by day and monochrome in dim light. Compatible with JC261, JC400 and JC450 series.
  • CI02: a USB camera designed for the JC450, mounting directly on the main unit with a wide angle covering the cabin.
  • CI03: a small infrared camera with an adjustable angle, for the back seat or a specific area of interest.
  • CE01: IP67 rated and compact, for trailer cargo, the rear or the fuel tank.
  • CE02: a tougher IP67 camera for side and rear views, used to cut blind spots on trucks and buses.
  • CD02: a driver monitoring camera with a small dashboard footprint, feeding alertness alerts to a JC450 system.

Choosing by the problem you have

If cargo goes missing between depots, a cargo-facing CE01 answers it. If passengers or cabin behaviour is the issue, a CI01 or CI03 covers it. If trucks are clipping objects on the nearside, a CE02 on the blind side is the fix. If fatigue is the concern, the CD02 or the standalone JC170 is the right tool.

Compatibility and installation

Peripheral cameras connect to a compatible recorder rather than working alone, so start from the recorder you have or plan to fit. We check compatibility before quoting, run the cable properly rather than draping it across a headlining, and aim each camera on the live view. Talk to us about a fleet on 6624 0400 or see the full dash camera range.

Questions about peripheral cameras

How many cameras can one recorder take?

It depends on the model. The JC450 Series supports multiple channels, while compact units support one additional camera. We confirm the limit before quoting.

Can I add a camera to a system installed by someone else?

If the recorder is a compatible Jimi model, usually yes. Send us the model number and we will confirm.

Are the cameras weatherproof?

The CE01 and CE02 are IP67 rated for external mounting. The CI series is intended for inside the cabin.

Will adding cameras cost more in data?

Slightly, since more channels can be streamed or uploaded. In practice the increase is modest because uploads are event-driven rather than continuous.

Who installs them?

We do, with the cable run properly and each camera aimed on the live view. A camera pointing at a headrest instead of a face is the most common fault we are called to correct on systems fitted elsewhere.

Buying accessories as part of a rollout

Peripheral cameras are quoted with the recorder, the cable and the installation, because the camera is the smallest part of the cost. For a mixed fleet we will recommend which vehicles genuinely need a second view first, rather than quoting every vehicle at once, and we confirm compatibility with your existing recorders before anything is ordered.
