GPS tracking in Qatar, and the systems that sit around it

Pixels Technology is a Doha-based systems integrator. We supply, install and maintain GPS tracking, dash cameras, CCTV, SMATV and IPTV, biometric attendance and access control, sound systems and structured cabling for organisations across Qatar. Most of our clients come to us for one of those and stay for several, because the systems in a building are easier to run when one team designs them, installs them and answers the phone about them.

We are ISO 9001:2015 certified, we work Saturday to Thursday from our office at Al Mirqab Mall in Doha, and our technicians install on site across the country.

    What we do

    GPS tracking and fleet management

Live vehicle location, geofencing, speed and idling alerts, driver behaviour scoring and route replay, using Jimi IoT hardware on the Tracksolid Pro platform. We fit OBD plug-in trackers, concealed hardwired units, and battery or solar trackers for trailers, generators and equipment. See vehicle tracking.

    Dash cameras and video telematics

4G dash cameras that stream live video, record the road and the cabin, and raise ADAS and driver-monitoring alerts while a vehicle is moving. Useful the first time an incident is disputed. See dash cameras.

    CCTV and surveillance

IP and analog HD systems designed camera by camera around what each position must actually show, with storage sized for the retention you need and remote viewing configured before we leave site. See CCTV systems.

    SMATV and IPTV

One headend and a clean outlet in every room, instead of a facade full of private dishes. For hotels, compounds, towers, accommodation and clinics. See SMATV and IPTV.

    Attendance and access control

Fingerprint, face and card systems that produce the reports payroll actually needs, and control the doors at the same time. See attendance systems.

    Sound and public address

Speech that can be understood at the back of the room, background music by zone, and paging that reaches the right area. For mosques, halls, hotels, schools, offices and outdoor spaces. See sound systems.

    Structured cabling

Cat6 and Cat6A copper, fibre backbones, racks and containment, labelled at both ends and handed over with test results rather than assurances. See structured cabling.

    The equipment we work with

For tracking and video telematics we use Jimi IoT hardware on the Tracksolid Pro platform, which covers the range a mixed fleet needs: vehicle trackers that plug into the OBD port or hide behind the dashboard, asset trackers with their own battery or solar panel, personal trackers for people rather than vehicles, and dash cameras from a single-lens unit up to a multi-channel system with driver monitoring. The accessory cameras extend a recorder to the cabin, the rear, the side or the cargo area.

For the building systems we specify to the requirement rather than to a single brand, because a villa, a hotel and a warehouse are not well served by the same equipment list.

    How we work

We survey before we quote. A price given over the phone for a system nobody has seen is a guess, and guesses are corrected later at the client's expense.

We specify for the job, not for the invoice. If a smaller system answers the question you are actually asking, we will say so.

We install with our own technicians. The person standing on the ladder works for us and is accountable for the result.

We hand over properly. Documentation, test results, labelled equipment, training for your team, and remote access configured on your devices before we leave.

We stay reachable. Warranty, maintenance and the same phone number afterwards.

Buying, installing, or fixing something already installed

Three kinds of enquiry reach us, and all three are welcome. Some clients are buying a system for the first time and want to be walked through the options. Some are expanding or replacing something that has aged out. And some have an installation done by someone else that never worked properly, and want it assessed honestly. We are happy to test an inherited system and tell you what is wrong with it, even when the answer is that most of it is fine and one thing is not.

    What happens after you call

The call itself takes five minutes. We ask what you want the system to do, what the building or fleet looks like, and whether there is a deadline. If the answer is obvious we will tell you on the phone, including when the answer is that you do not need what you thought you needed.

A survey follows within days. Someone who will be responsible for the installation walks the site, measures what matters and asks the questions that only appear on site: where cable can run, where power exists, what is in direct sun, which doors are fire doors, which vehicles are hardest to take off the road.

The proposal is itemised. Equipment, installation, configuration and any running costs, listed separately. You can see what each part costs, remove something, or phase the project across two budgets.

Installation is scheduled around you. Occupied buildings are phased. Fleets are done in batches. Work that is noisy or disruptive is scheduled when it causes least damage to your operation, including evenings where that is what it takes.

Handover is a real handover. Documentation, labelled equipment, remote access working on your own devices, and training for the people who will use the system daily rather than for whoever happened to be available.

    Working with consultants and contractors

A good share of our work arrives through consultants, main contractors and fit-out companies rather than directly from the end client. We are comfortable working to a specification, attending coordination meetings, providing submittals and method statements, and fitting into a programme where our work sits between other trades. If you are a contractor looking for a subcontractor for security, tracking, television, audio or cabling packages, send the tender documents and we will respond properly rather than with a one-line price.

    Where we work in Qatar

Who we work with in Qatar

    • Fleet operators in logistics, distribution, rental and passenger transport, who need to know where vehicles are and how they are driven.
    • Contractors and industrial sites, where equipment, gates and attendance all need covering in conditions that punish poor installation.
    • Hotels, compounds and property managers, who need television, cameras and access to work for residents and guests without daily intervention.
    • Offices and corporates, where cabling, cameras, access control and meeting-room audio are all part of the same fit-out.
    • Schools and clinics, with careful attention to where cameras belong, how staff attendance is recorded, and how announcements reach a building full of people.
    • Government and institutional clients, who need documentation, reporting and systems that survive an audit.

    Where we are

Our office is at Al Mirqab Mall, Block B, Second Floor, Office 205, Doha, and we are open Saturday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Call 4421 2322 or 6624 0400, email info@pixelsqa.com, or send the details through the contact page and we will arrange a survey.

    Where we work

We serve clients across Qatar: Doha and its districts, the industrial areas, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, Umm Salal, Al Khor, Dukhan, Mesaieed and remote sites in between. Our technicians travel with the equipment they need for a first-time fix, because a second visit to a site an hour outside Doha costs everyone a day.

    Why clients use one supplier

Why clients use one supplier for all of it

A camera needs cabling. A door reader needs a cable, a network and a camera watching it. An IPTV system needs the same riser the cameras use. When four contractors deliver those separately, the riser is opened four times, the rack is built by whoever arrived first, and every fault becomes a conversation about whose responsibility it is.

We plan the pathways once, build the rack once, and take responsibility for the result. It is faster during construction, cheaper over the life of the building, and considerably less frustrating when something needs fixing three years later.

Why GPS tracking is where most Qatari fleets start

Of everything we install, vehicle tracking is the system that pays for itself fastest, which is why it is the most common first project. A fleet of twenty vehicles typically finds three things in the first month: idling that nobody had measured, journeys that were not what the paperwork said, and speeding concentrated in a small number of drivers. None of those require a confrontation to fix. Showing supervisors the numbers weekly is usually enough to change the pattern, and the fuel line in the accounts moves within a quarter.

Tracking is also the system that most often leads to the others. A client who can see the vehicles then wants to see the yard the vehicles return to, then wants to know which driver actually clocked in, and the same team installs all three.

    Support after the invoice

Most complaints about technology suppliers in Qatar are not about the equipment. They are about what happened afterwards: a number that stopped being answered, a fault attributed to someone else, a system nobody explained. We try to be boring about this. The same phone number answers, warranty is honoured without argument, and maintenance agreements exist for the systems that actually need maintaining, which in this climate means most of them.

Maintenance in Qatar is not optional. Camera lenses film with dust. Rooftop equipment cooks through the summer. Locks drift out of adjustment on doors used five hundred times a day. A system that was commissioned perfectly two years ago and never touched since is rarely still performing as it did.

    What it costs

    A straight answer on price

We do not publish prices, because every installation is quoted from a survey and we would rather be accurate than attractive. What we will do is tell you the range early in the conversation, before anyone invests time. If your budget and the system you need are far apart, you will hear that from us in the first meeting rather than in the third, and we will tell you what a smaller version of the project would still achieve.

    Careers, and talking to us

    Careers

We hire technicians, engineers and office staff in Qatar as the business grows. Current vacancies and the online application are on the careers page. Applications are reviewed by our own team, and every applicant receives a decision.

    Talk to us

Tell us what you need to see, track, control or hear, and we will tell you what we would install and why. Call 4421 2322 or 6624 0400, email info@pixelsqa.com, or use the contact page. We are at Al Mirqab Mall, Block B, Second Floor, Office 205, Doha, open Saturday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

One number for all of it

If your building or your fleet needs more than one of these systems, the practical advantage of a single supplier is not the discount. It is that nobody can tell you the fault belongs to another contractor. One survey covers everything, one rack is built properly the first time, one team knows where every cable runs, and one phone number answers when something needs attention two years later. That is the reason most of our clients started with one system and now have three. Call us on 4421 2322 and tell us what you are trying to solve.

    Start with one question

Clients who get the most from us arrive with a question rather than a shopping list. Where are my vehicles and how are they being driven. Who opened that door at eleven at night. Why does the television break up on the fourth floor. Why can nobody hear the announcement at the back of the hall. Why is the network slow in one corner of the building. Each of those has an answer, and the answer is usually cheaper and more specific than the system a brochure would sell you. Tell us the question, and we will tell you what it takes to answer it, what it costs, and how long it takes to install.

    Common questions

Do you cover the whole of Qatar?

Yes. Our office is in Doha and our technicians install across the country, including remote sites.

    Do you supply equipment only?

We can, and we also install and maintain. Most clients ask us to do all three, so responsibility for the result sits in one place.

    How quickly can you visit?

Call or email and we will arrange a survey. Tell us if the matter is urgent, and we will tell you honestly when we can be there rather than promising same-day and disappointing you.

Can you work with our consultant's specification?

Yes. Send the specification and we will quote against it, and flag anything in it that we think will cause problems on site.

    Do you provide maintenance contracts?

Yes, for CCTV, SMATV and IPTV, access control, sound systems and tracking fleets. Systems in Qatar need cleaning and checking, and a contract is what makes sure that actually happens.

    Are you hiring?

Current openings are listed on our careers page, and applications are made online.
