VL502 in Qatar
The VL502 is a new-generation 4G Cat 1 OBDII tracker that reads the vehicle as well as its position. It pulls data such as VIN, engine speed, water temperature and accumulated mileage, and applies a UBI-based algorithm to score four kinds of dangerous driving.

Why the engine data matters
Location tells you where a vehicle went. Does every car provide the same data?
No. The data available depends on the vehicle and what it exposes on the OBD port. We confirm what your models will report before you buy a fleet’s worth.
What are the four driving behaviours?
The algorithm scores the dangerous-driving categories used in insurance telematics, such as harsh acceleration, harsh braking, sharp cornering and speeding, so drivers can be compared fairly.
Can it be used for insurance discussions?
Fleets do use behaviour data in insurance negotiations. What your insurer accepts is between you and them, and we will provide the reports you need.
What we include with every VL502
The configured device, a data SIM, platform access with driving-behaviour reporting enabled, geofences and alerts, supervisor training and warranty support from Doha. Where the data will be used for insurance or driver incentives, we help you set the scoring thresholds so the comparison between drivers is fair.
A note on driver scoring
Behaviour scores are useful when they are discussed openly. Publish the criteria, show drivers their own scores, and recognise improvement rather than only penalising the bottom of the table. The measurable outcome is fewer harsh events; the practical outcome is fewer damaged vehicles.
